Microdetermination of Chloride in Biological Fluids, with Solid Silver Iodate

چکیده
was outlined in detail, with gasometric measurement of the iodate resulting from the reaction. In this paper titrimetric measurement of the iodate is described. Titrimetric measurement of the iodate is directly applicable to the supernatant fluid in the AgI08 precipitation of chloride from salt solutions, urine, serum, and protein-free jiltrate of serum and of whole blood.’ For the titrimetric analysis of blood only proteinfree filtrates may be used. The measurement is carried out according to the classical reaction for iodate in acid solution in the presence of an excess of potassium iodide. The equation applicable to the present measurements is

Microdetermination of Chloride in Blood Plasma and Cells, by Spectrophotometric Analysis Using Solid Silver Iodate.
As an extension of the silver iodate method of Sendroy,a convenient, reproducible, and sensitive method for analysis of chloride in 0.02-mi. samples of serum, whole blood, or red cells isdescribed. The procedureinvolves (1) preparation of a proteinfree filtrate of the sample, (2) Ag103 reaction with the filtrate, and (3) spectrophotometric analysisof iodineas the quantitative measureof the amou...

The Micro-estimation of Sulphates in Sea Water and the Body Fluids of Marine Animals
IN a series of methods recently proposed (Robertson & Webb, 1939) for the microestimation of the principal constituents of sea water and of the body fluids of marine animals, that for sulphate was on the whole the least satisfactory. As there described it consists of precipitation by means of barium chloride and direct titration of the excess barium with sodium sulphate, using rhodizonic acid a...

A new method for extraction and analysis of ethanol and methanol in human whole blood, urine and saliva samples based on headspace solid phase microextraction (SPME) using silver sulfide (Ag(2)S) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coated on silver wire is described. Unlike commercial fibers, which are coated on fused silica, the proposed fiber has a metallic base to which the coating adheres very str...

Sendroy (l-3) pointed out in his original papers on the determination of chloride by the reaction, AgI03 + Cl% AgCl + 103, that the 103formed reduces the AgI03 solubility to a negligible value in analyses of plasma, and of urines except those with unusually little chloride. Sendroy ((1) Fig. 2) gave a curve of corrections for AgI03 solubility at 20-25”, for use in. analyses of low chloride urin...
